| How did you approach the theme/topic when you first received the prompt?
I read through the prompt several times, thought up different story ideas that could fit into the theme provided, and ran them by a friend who was also submitting a piece. What drew you to the particular angle you explored in your story? What drew me into the angle is the fact that I am a sucker for sisterhood—whether it is forged by family ties or by life, in reality or in fiction. Did writing this piece change or deepen your own perspective on the topic? It deepened my perspective and enforced the notion that no matter how different sisters are, they always find their way back to themselves. If readers remember just one idea from your piece, what would you want it to be? Again, sisterhood in its purest and most authentic form. Complete the sentence: “I hope my writing makes people…” “…yearn for the most wholesome forms of sisterhood in women who see them for who they are and love them unabashedly.” |
